Checa out of 2013 WSBK championship

Recent tests conducted after Checa's accident at the Turkey round of the Superbike world championship have shown that Carlos Checa has cracked his pelvis. This equates to a 10 week recovery period and rules him out of the rest of the championship, very disappointing for Checa and the SBK Ducati Alstare team.

The cracked pelvis was only noticed after Checa complained he was struggling to walk. Additional injuries included a contusion to the thorax and a fractured left scaphoid.

This does not bode well for Ducati's championship running, however the Panigale is still undergoing a few tweaks here and there to be competitive with the likes of the RSV4's, BMW's and Kawasaki's.

Surgery is scheduled for Wednesday 18th September and will be performed by Doctor Ribas of the Dexeus clinic.
