It is suspected that the next generation R1 may feature a 3 cylinder engine along with revised swingarm and shorty style exhaust pipe from the spy image below, this is also apparent on Yamaha's MT-09 which has just been released.
However the 2014 R1 colors and official pictures have been released, nothing new here, in the meantime anyway.
Included is a 7 stage traction control and ride-by-wire. Price figures vary around the $14 000 mark.
The R1 has become somewhat of an icon thanks to a crossplane crank which creates a fantastic growl unlike traditional in-line 4 superbikes.
The new YZF-R1 is expected in the near future so it would be wise to wait for it unless you really have your heart set on the 'big bang' as it is named.
